Yes! I recall loving the screenplay when I read it. The new DEI world baffles me. That an award-winning gay screenplay writer can't get produced is proof enough of the lunacy of it all.
AGREED. But I will take it a step further: I usually can't even get READ. And when I am, I can't get to the interview stage. A literary management office who read my script and expressed interest in me ceased being interested after I answered accurately on their demographic survey which i was REQUIRED to fill out before getting to the interview stage. THAT'S CALLED DISCRIMINATION. And things are starting to shift... Disney is being sued for their DEI requirements, etc. It has to STOP. We need MERIT BASED assessments. We need BLIND orchestra auditions again. The Supreme Court struck down affirmative action, yet corporate America is practicing it every minute of every day. It's gonna take DEI being dragged into the Supreme Court before we get this shit banned.
